Leadership Ability / Delegation – Most businesses that stand a chance of growth and success require a team of people with capable leadership running point. A critical factor to growing a business is knowing how to lead others and knowing how to delegate responsibilities. This doesn’t have to mean hiring droves of employees...at least from the onset. The saavy business owner should embrace working with independent contractors when the workload is heavy, and later consider hiring full-time employees when business is steady and constant.

Risk-Takers – To be a successful entrepreneur, someone has to be willing to take enough of a risk to leave the comfort of a traditional nine-to-five job in favor of a less certain income source. However, being a risk-taker doesn’t mean successful entrepreneurs are willing to gamble with their success. Instead, their risks are carefully calculated and planned.

Enterprising – Entrepreneurs can’t afford to be lazy. They need to be tireless with a "go-getter" attitude.  They also must be willing to put in more hours, not less, and maintain multiple tasks at once...even when time is short and deadlines are soon.

Innovative – A large portiond of being an entrepreneur is to maintain a constant flow of ideas.  More importantly there needs to be some creativity to help set one entrepreneur’s business, products, or services apart from their competition. The entrepreneurs breaking new ground with creativity tend to be the most successful in the end.

Confident – If you don't believe in your product or service then on one else will.  More over, the chances of success are slim to none if the business owner or freelancer constantly doubts their ability to succeed.

Independent – If you constantly needs someone else to tell you what to do before you can act, then it's not likely you'll succeed as an entrepreneur. Entrepreneurs are independent thinkers who come up with their own ideas/plans and then act on them like they as if success is the only option.
